one of my many heroes, Jurassic Park author Michael Chrichton died last night.
He'll be missed

Agreed. He was taken way too soon. The write up said that he had kept his illness quiet shocking everyone when he died.

Michael Crichton,
I hope you can read this from heaven. Even though we never spoke, your work and talent have inspired me to become the person I am today. The fabulous worlds from your mind shown on screen are the reason I am in the FX business and your books are a mainstay of my literary endeavors. The world is weaker in your absence. I am very upset about this and you are now the second influential figure I will never meet. The first being Stan Winston. Rest in peace Sir, I wish I could have met you.
