I've been hearing that Forry Ackerman is battling an infection. (pneumonia) He's home, not in any great pain, but at his age of 91, this is pretty serious. If you want to send him some well wishes, you can send them to his Facebook page.

Forry, the one time editor of "Famous Monsters of Filmland" magazine, is best known to science fiction fans as one of the greatest collectors of SF memorabilia on the face of the Earth. He invented the idea of going to science fiction cons in costume, and also acted as the agent for many early talents in the 1950's.

It's indeed sad to hear about Forry, though he's held up well for a remarkably long time and hopefully that speaks of his inner fortitude.

I don't have a Facebook page to comment him directly, but I certainly add my best wishes to Forry for getting well soon and continuing his living legacy for a while longer. We're all richer for his life's work.
