Q is such a smartass ! I loved it when sisko decked him on DS9 " You hit me, Picard never hit me"

I think that there is one thing that is forgotten about the all power full and all knowing Q. No matter what starship he shows up on be it eaither Enterprise or Voyager he is always taught a lesson.
Also the best line ever is said by Worf on Q-pid "Sir, I am not a merry man" |

Sorry Mon Captain JB, but when I say "I love Q", I just mean I love Q!
I think hes witty and funny and entertaining in all his forms and appearances. But he makes all the Star Trek characters a little more human. But most of all I thought his interactions with Riker were awesome! With the hot chicks and the beard comments! The best thing about Q is the sheer potential for creative script writing. You can literally do anything, and put the characters in ANY situation. Its that sort of freedom that really allows for big laughs. |

He keeps Picard... and the rest of the crew for that matter on their toes!

I would love to see a movie where Q had some conflict with another race of uber-aliens, say the Preservers. Because such a conflict is causing all sorts of havok in the galaxy, Picard or Janeway or Sisko (Sisko might be the best choice since he is now a Prophet), need to somehow foster a cease-fire. Well, maybe not, since there was already an episode of Voyager where Janeway helped to stop the Q from killing Q.

I really enjoyed the exuberance that John brought to the role. A Q film would have been much much better than the Baku/Sona crap in Insurrection or the Remans thing in Nemesis. Ah well....

Well try to imagine a movie plot with Q. It would likely not work, because Q is a mixture of dialogue and slapstick; honestly. It's brilliant, but a whole movie of that would sag. I don't think it would have worked. He's too powerful, Picard can only beat him by tying him up in logic, and that's a little too Douglas-Adams a plotline for Star Trek. Shame, of course, it would have been grand to see him again. But again we have the Brent Spiner problem: John can no longer play Q because, like Data, he's a non-aging character and the corresponding actor is not.

I too echo the sentiments of everyone in here. I adore Q. He's such a great character.
However I have to agree with The Commodore in that you cant really get a "movie" out of Q. A two-part episode, yes, but a movie, I'm just not sure. Plus, to get d'Lancie to be Q (or Spiner to be B-4) you have to cake on the make-up like they did for Mark Hamill in the Star Wars Holiday Special. But... it's only been 21 years for the TNG cast, and ST VI was 25 years after, so there's a SLIM chance... |

The question is Why not love Q
I have so many great momoments for Q.... my favorite Quote. "If you can't take a little bloody nose then why don't you go back home and crawl underneath your bed? It's not safe out here, It's wonderous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and bold, but it's not for the timid."

For making Picard look this sad in this scene.
![]() Sorry for the size of the picture, I don't get why it uploads so small.
