If they do the 25th century I hope they stick to established canon and don't go rewriting the history of the future.

These are the voyages of some starship that still upholds the values of 23rd century Starfleet.

I don't even know if they've written what happens in the 25th or 26th century but it would be awesome to see an expansion of the Rodenberry universe that can introduce new technology, new races and new politics.

Most importantly we need a new crew.

LOL! Granted, Star Wars was also the first thing I thought of, too. But I actually like Tetanus' idea if for any reason, it has never been approached before in the ST universe. Other universes, yes, but it would be very interesting to see how The Federation with its ideals and virtues would deal with such a scenario, as opposed to the way The Empire did. Of course, minus all the hocus-pocus, as well. It would be a very different storyline.

See, with a new series, I would actually like to see a contracted, weaker Federation, not squabbling amongst itself, but simply not as powerful and influential as it once was, and more open to the dangers of other predatory powers, ones that wouldn't have been a threat prior to the war. I think that makes sense post-Dominion war, but in actuality I would rather see us jump another century or so, well away from everything we've seen already - a new blank canvas of an Alpha Quadrant.

Or you go the Starship Troopers route and have a society built on warfare, frightened and ultimately corrupted by it's desire to stay secure after the shock the Dominion gave it - it becomes the 'Mirror' universe in the 'Real' universe.

But I'd also be more than content with at least a 'new' trilogy of films to keep things going!
