Default Confused Matthew: Star Trek Pre-review 2009

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVJrV...eature=related

So many of you already know Confused Matthew if you frequent Youtube for his scathing Movie Reviews. I've only just discovered his critical form of reviewing. I have to say, some times he's spot on, other times he's too litteral.

In this Pre-review of JJ Abrams upcoming films he makes several statements on whether or not the writers should adhere to the continuity. Well I automaticly don't agree with him. I find him contradictory on this one. In his first breaths of the review he says, "Not putting Shatner in the Film will miss out on drawing alot of fans into the theatre." and in his last breath he says , "It's your movie (writters) don't let fans tell you what to do in YOUR movie.

Now this is contrary in every way. Continuity is just as important for thosee mainstay characters as seeing Shatner. Why do a halfa** job on this. We are talking fiction it's not as though a good (that's the trick GOOD) plot device can't be created and propperly introduced to make both character and Continuity meld smoothly.

C'mon Matthew that was a bad propposal. The whole point of the Movie is for revival you can't alienate and attempt to draw that same audience if you're going to be screwing the continuity which is the Trek fan's biggest grunt.

But what I do agree with is that I have little intrest in seeing this movie as a prequel and if Matthew is correct and this is told as though a flashback to a time before the crew of the Enterprise get together then I'm already disappointed but like Matthew I've been surprised before. And I'm always willing to give Abrams a try.

C'mon Trek let's get back on course.
...Let's boldly Go...again.

He had the same effect on me when I watched his Lion King review.
Believe it or not the future trek review is very very tame...I prefer it when his tone remains rational.

I feed off analysis.
That's when we get down to the inner workings...
Where the irrelevancies are burned away in a fierce firey crucible of clensing destruction. If more movies were done like this I truely believe societies intelligence was rising as a whole.

He's misinformed, I found his views on Star Trek and those who watch it as pandering to stereotype. The only thing he said I could possibly see is that perhaps the franchise should have stopped after TNG, I don't agree with that, but I could see how someone could see it that way, but as for the rest of his review, some interesting points but his ideas on just who it is that watches Star Trek and how they feel about each series made me laugh.
