Whatever their personal history, this is how Shatner chose to respond because he wasn't invited to Takei's wedding.
Given his comments about George's orientation, is it any wonder he wasn't invited? Yet Shatner responded with a personal attack, and a mean-spirited one at that. It reeks of "I'm left out... I didn't get my way... so you're bad" which is simply far too childish and selfish for a man of his age and experience. It's not just inexcusable in Shatner, its inexcusable in anyone ranting like that. If someone calls me psychotic, he doesn't get invited to my wedding... even if he's my wife's father! Such bitterness is just sad.

But in any case, Takei is just as guilty man. He's been after The Shat for YEARS man. Talking crap about him and hating him for his success over him. I honestly can say I'm siding with The Shat here. I wouldn't let that little turd get away with all the things he did. The Shat is getting some sweet buttery payback. And I don't blame him one bit. |

Then surely Takei extended an olive branch which was rejected by Shatner. As usual Shatner spins some gibberish about it all being a plot against him - apparently everyone else on Trek has been plotting against him since the films restarted at least, Nimoy's had his fair share of attacks from Shat as well - and they both come off looking like 70 year old kids.

Well, of course, he wasn't obligated to. It's still childish from them both.

I'm going to come out and say it, Shatner isnt that great. Takei is a great actor in Heroes... so in comparisson I'm going to be shallow and align with Takei. Also have you see the video he put out about that basketball player. Effin hilarious!

To put it succinctly - I greatly admire Shatner as James T. Kirk, not as William Shatner...

this really saddens me. this isnt doing either of them any favours. why would you want to hang your dirty laundry out like this for the world to see.
we will probably never know who is right or wrong but i just wish they would meet up, have a drink and work it out. It doesnt make pleasant reading. life is way to short. starbase Britain |
