heh....while skimming (not thoroughly reading) the posts here I had this thought:
We've all sort of assumed a "hand off of command" from Pike to Kirk...they shake hands, Pike steps off the ship and Kirk is in command. But, what if the "future Captain" has to do a mission with the standing crew, to observe? He's not the first officer. He's sort of in limbo.... And, Pike is taken out of the picture (NERO?) so Kirk decides he needs to (and has the right to) step in? That might go a ways toward explaining why Spock is choking Kirk in one picture...

I love that idea! It's fairly juicy and makes me squeal with happiness, but that could be because I'm tired. Also fairly open to the cast without undershirts or shirts of any kind. What can I say?

It seems like it is just the black undershirt to me as well.

I think we all need to spend some more time with our DVD collections to cool ourselves off. All this anticipation is making us crazy and we're now making up things to keep ourselves entertained and Trek-involved. We all need the visual/cinematic equivalent of a cold shower. I'm no different. I've been working late nights here calling patients using my Bluetooth TOS communicator as a speakerphone and I've been shooting at invisible (possibly cloaked) Klingons and Romulans in my office with my phasers 'cause I'm so hungry for this film. Good thing there's no one else here to see me. I'd be watching the new movie on DVD from my room in the local sanitarium.

Well, coming back to the boring old world of seriousness, just for a moment, if you look at the picture with Spock strangling Kirk, then the material of Kirk's shirt is indeed the same type of fabric that Spock has for his undershirt.
And of course, with this addition of the undershirt, Kirk is going to have to work twice as hard to get his upper body clothes ripped off!

Taking the rest of her post into account, it seems as if Eliza was in a mood which had less to do with cooking
