I've cussed sparingly only times of dire stress and there is nothing left to do. When people say a cuss word... it invites this negative energy into the place.

What ever happened to common courtesies the one that sparked the rant is Why dont poeple remove hats when they enter buildings anymore. It used to be expected.

Far be it from me to offer excuse, Jed. One possibility is that the world is more transient, and multicultural. Many aren't aware of certain forms of decorum.

But It is observant of you to notice the lack of polite jestures.

I dis like that but I recently learned that spitting is a sign of drug abuse. Usually marijuana. The build up of inhailants creates alot of flem. Spitters are also accounted for dippers and smokers.

A hand kiss is indeed a little bit outdated but things like opening the door or helping in and out of the jacket is a nice little gentleman-style courtesy IMO.

I don't think it is a multicultural thing. If you meet eg Asian people or people of Asian origin, they have an even stricter code (due to polulation density) of polite behaviour which differs in its gestures and rites of course from European or Northamerican. The basic idea is yet the same, respect the privacy of your fellows and make yourself and your fellow be a tiny bit more happy by simply being friendly.

I have spit before usually try to but If I've been sick and I cough up something and have nothing to put it I'll find some grass and spit it out but I try not do it front of poeple.

Well I don't wear hats so can't tip mine, but I do open doors and hold them for others, I don't spit, and I try to be polite in conversation. I try to have good table manners, I think chewing with an open mouth is not really needed and. However while I'm not a frequent swearer, there is something occaisionally so very simple and stress relieving about expressing yourself so directly. Sometimes I like it. That said, it doesn't have to be every second word in a sentence, and I don't do it often.
