Good observation, Zim. I think the letters look normal, but the strut between the saucer and the engineering section has a bend unlike the Constitution-class.

Here is what you suggested, the upside-down thing, it looks indeed more familiar, especially the angle (ignoring the letters and the bridge being on the wrong side of the saucer) .

I see what you mean, but
1) that looks totally rediculous
2) I don't think that a ship with only one nacelle would have a secondary hull, and a ship with a secondary hull should have more than one nacelle

Regardless- I think that ship is fugly
