Yes I hope so too!!! I complete new show in the future of Trek!!
But with the Titan??? How should play Riker?? I think Frakes would not have the motivation of playing in a new TV-Show!!
It would be very very interesting how Trek continues after the arival of Voyager.
But the new show should have enough space between the other shows for a sucessfull start!!

What I really want from this movie won't happen before my eyes. It will happen on Halloween 2009 when three to four Starfleet-Uniform-Wearing ten-year olds get in a fight with the latest Star Wars Padawan.

What would be nice is this... The new re-vitalizes the entire STAR TREK universe or better yet, multiverse... Wouldn't mind seeing the SciFi Channel continueing the voyages of Enterprise (NX-01) or possibly giving us a STAR TREK: Titan series... or even a series based on the novels about the USS Excalibur under MacKenzie Calhoun....

I am really hoping that Star Trek will get a shot of adrenaline directly to the heart with this new movie. I would like this film to jump start a new era of Trek on TV. I don't want Trek to stay only on the big screen. Since 2005 and the demise of Enterprise, I have felt this emptiness inside, with no new Trek to hold me over until this Christmas. I have watched all the series' and movies repeatedly, and I still want more.

Abrams has a gift for leaving viewers wanting more. I think that he will bring this to the trek universe with this film. Lets remember that this is not something that he does by flying on the seat of his pants but by intent and skill.
Add to that the fact he has signed on for three movies i would dare say that the script on this will bear that in mind and they know things that will run across all three movies.
So i expect the story in each to have it's own resolution yet leave me with a sense that i cannot wait to get my butt back in the seat for the next installment.
Interestingly as Berman was to the trek universe what clooney was to batman i do think that abrams will do for trek what nolan did for batman.

I hope it does open the door to a new tv series that takes place after Nemesis.

also they should give the next gen cast one more movie as well. Maybe revive Data.

Also I hope that it does not divide up the fans like the new Star Wars movies did.

and the new fans that they attract, I hope arn't a bunch of little kids.

Little kids can be very annoying. Wait until the next Star Trek Conventions is turned into a giant daycare.

I’m hoping the movie will add new and exciting stories to the Trek Universe. Also, I am hoping the movie will jumpstart the Franchise, bring in new fans and become a little more mainstream. For Trek to stop being treated like the red-headed step-child by the studio. The big budget and what appears to be an increased amount of support, is a good step in that direction for the latter.

All I believe will increase the likelihood that we will see new Trek for many years to come (small and big screen).

I hope it reignites the true intent of Roddenberry's vision of the future. That people of all walks of life can see past the superficial differences of each other for the common goal of peace and exploration.
