I first got into star trek in general round '95, had seen some TOS and watched Caretaker when it first aired in the UK... same year I remember watching Remember Me... was my first tng ep and even though it's not the greatest it stuck with me and I always associate it with one of my earliest trek memories.

AND old enough to purchase beer! The Simpsons started around then too; it was a good time.

I watched since Ep #1. I was in high school, and me and my three buddies watched it and the next day we were all chattering about it all day long. It wasnt as great as we'd hoped but we watched faithfully and as we hoped it got better & better...Q did not stand out to me much, but I'm glad later on they worked with his character and made him into something that spanned across the series. John DeLancie was brilliant..as was his son playing Q junior!!

Oh, it was Encounter at Farpoint. The Premire. We had all waited close to 20 years for a new Trek series... at that point, it didn't matter that the first episode sucked. We were being introduced to a new E, and a whole cadre of new characters...
My wife and I were so excited, we went out and bought a new big screen just for that party.

I watched Encounter at Farpoint and loved it. Never was disappointed and still watch all the episodes from time to time, as I do DS9, Voyager, Enterprise and TOS.
Guess I am just addicted.... ![]()

I've been with TNG since the beginning... Pilot episode... (I was 11) I had never seen TOS much before that but got into it later... I also have memories of ST:TMP which I didn't even know what it was till way later in life and saw it again... my parents had gone to the theater to see it... I was 3 LOL... and I'm one of the few that actually liked some of the TNG season two episodes.

I was able to catch the premiere of Encounter At Farpoint when it was shown on WAVE in Louisville. I was stationed at Ft. Knox and insisted that the wife make room in the budget for cable.
I was a little disappointed to find out that an update of an old TOS episode The Naked Now was next. It was almost like saying, "hey, let's put the new crew in an old situation and see if they fit... and if it doesn't kill the franchise, we can have another season or something." Luckily, TNG got it's own wings soon enough. |
