Default Favorite Older Band

Just wondering what people thought of these bands from around the 60's/70's/80's

Personally, I like the Sex Pistols best.

I will say this.... my favorite bands are Journey, U2, Rush, Pink Floyd, and the Eagles...

...but Duran Duran transcends them all in my book. Simon Le Bon has probably the most ethereal voice in all of pop-rock, and those guys can just play their heads off.

I used to have all their tapes up through their second self-titled album from the early nineties. They've never disappointed me with their sound.

About a year and a half ago, I bought the Duran Duran Live At Wembley Stadium DVD, and those guys, having been around for 25+ years, and gone through a few personnel changes before returning to the original lineup still sound every bit as great as they did back in 80. They played five sold out nights!

My all time favorite song by them is Ordinary World.

Right now, my favorite song is Hold Back the Rain, but it changes - Ordinary World is most definitely a top 10! I just got to see them on their past tour and they brought the freaking house down. Let's hope they hit Albany on the RCMassacre tour!

Pink Floyd, Beatles, The Police, Genesis (the Peter Gabriel flavor), early Funkedelic (when they were pretty much equal parts funk, rock and soul), the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. I'd better stop now. :-)
