This is the best moderated board I've ever posted on and I've been posting on boards for 11 years...they stay in the background and let the discussions progress, but are watching for that moment things get ugly and take the appropriate action, they respond quickly to reports of problems....

I suspect it's because this is a company owned board and those moderating are not "volunteers" but employees with a vested interest in keeping the board going.

It's almost enough to make me give up the "free boards" and stick to company boards...

...once having worked as a Security Guard: I know that even the 'kudos' you receive are a 'corporate' thanks, aimed at those who 'wear the uniform', rather than the person within.

Despite... no, INspite of that, we thank you, as unknown individuals, for the work you do on our behalf. You have a 'corporate' identity on these boards; and we have had little chance to know you as individuals. Your presence/existence, however, frees us unaffiliated individuals to be more like the true 'us' that lurks behind these Internet aliases. We thank you...

While I agree with the basic sentiment...I do have to point to Redshirt as being someone I have come to have a feeling for. I won't go so far as to say I know him, but he's at least as "known" as many other occassional posters...He's shown himself to be funny and caring and just plain cool...

(I say "he" because I'm old school...the convention is that the "masculine" termonology is, in fact, all inclusive... the "feminine" is specific to a known female).
