Isn't filming over and they are just finishing up the effects? Shat is not in the movie. Too bad but oh well

I'm not sure what purpose having a old Kirk in the film would serve.

Just compare:

Shatner in ST Generations:

Shatner now:

Can the man on the last pic play the man on the first pic again?
Remember, Kirk died, so Shatner only can play a Kirk that is as old as Kirk on the first pic...or younger.

IMO, Shat will never be Kirk again. Thank the Gods. Action heros have to be fit. If I were to make a movie about Kirk or write a piece of fiction I would write about a younger one. You have more to write about. Eighty year olds take naps and are prone to forgetfullness. It would make it hard to fight the Klingons when the Captain needs help to the bathroom.

Hardly. Why could he not have been raised shortly after the events and have aged since?

I did hear they might use his backside as a docking bay for the enterprise to save money on cgi though.

Actually what sucked about generations wasn't just the death but that whereas Kirk came off as a hero earlier he came off as a juvenile next to picard later.

I would argue that wasn't even kirk in the later part of the movie, unless he had a complete personality transplant.
