I didn't think TNG looked plasticky at all - weren't the corridor walls partly carpet type material? The Turbolifts had carpeted walls at least. I thought they were quite comfy looking!

I remember in 'Disaster' you could see the Turbolift walls were carpeted or soft at least, but at any rate they didn't look cheap to me, the TOS corridors did, but that was the 60s.

Yeah, but at least the corridors were turned like they were in TNG. They were smart enough not to have them go straight back with an obvious matte painting in the background. Granted, the corridors themselves did look a little o the cheap side. *Granted, this is not to put blame on DS9, I think they did a wonderful job with the matte. in the habitat ring.

The vertical bits of wall hanging down stopped the viewer from seeing over the top of the set... hence why no cielings... quite clever, never actually noticed until I was told.

Am guessing the reason for lack of cielings is for lighting, as apart from red alert lights tos coridors never had lighting built into the walls.

Yeah, having the corridors turn was better than the mattes, but I suppose DS9 had to have mattes, because her corridors were far longer and the curve was softer due to her size over a starship's. Shame that in TNG they could never show the rumoured Grand Corridor that was in the saucer.

Agreed. For those of you who have visited the "late" Star Trek The Experiance. The Enterprise- D "ride" showed a ssmall section of it.
But of course $ comes into play.

Is that where that was? When I was there I took the Borg ride and never saw the Corridor, but had read it was there - I was a little confused when I couldn't find it!

This is very true. But the reason I put the image on, was to clarify to kevin that eventhough the corridors may have been cheasy, the curving was a smart idea. But yeah, I agree with you about the reason why the Deep Space Nine corridors had to be as such.
