Jim Morrison is certainly up there. Also the lead singer of NXS who was one of the few singers to have a Jim Morrison thing that was able to pull it off as his own.
There are so many others, but yeah, Jim Morrison. Also on a total side note and great vocal performance was Joel Grey in Cabaret, wouldn't say it's my favorite, but damn it's good!

Well if we can give out more than one!!
Male - Adam Duritz, Tom Baxter, Willy Vlautin, Brandon Flowers, Stevie Wonder, Billy Ocean and Meatloaf. Female - Stevie Nicks, Natalie Maines, Kate Bush, Faith Hill, Christina Aguilera, Eva Cassidy and Alicia Keys. There are more I can easily listen to but at the moment, that's a representation! |

Female: 1.Annie Lennox, back in the day her voice could do things i didn't know a voice could do. 2. Delores O'Riordan, lead singer of "The Cranberries", the first time i hear her, i was floored, amazing talent. 3. Shirley Bassey, power of voice personified. Male: 1. Dean Martin, a smoother, silkier voice i've not heard. 2. Nilsson, very different, but very enjoyable. 3. Chris DeBurgh, give him a listen, and i don't just mean "Lady in Red", and i think you'll know what i'm talking about. |

Wow, so many good choices already. I agree with Jim Morrison simply for the distinction of his voice. Similarly, I like Peter Gabriel, Sting, and Phil Collins.
Nobody mentioned Freddie Mercury yet?
