So I could make a thread in General Trek and post chapters of my fanfic and it'd be all right?

Depends on your definition of "all right"...
The powers that be might hate it and not only yank it but take you to court (extremely low chance of happening...go buy a lotto ticket...you have as much chance of winning that as you do losing on this one). My suggestion is to PM one of the mods and explain what you want to do. I suspect that will get you your answer.
