The good news, kids, is that when the earth is destroyed and we all die, it's gonna be FAST! Like....we won't be able to post about it before it's over! What I'm hearing is just over 12 seconds from "oh..." to *********************************

It's something other than global warming to put in the papers for a while. Until we don't die - then it will be 'EARTH SAVED!!!!!!!'

Distraction and fear.... very popular tactics lately.

True, but then different people are scared by different things. None of those particularly frighten me, nor does the black hole.

Nuclear weapons are beyond my control, as are many aspects of the others so don't let it get to you!

But aren't these things all related? I don't seriously worry about CERN's work, but it's still part of the uncontrolled military-industrial complex. They're the same people who made the steam engine, the internal combustion engine, the nuclear reactor, and goddess only knows what else.
In my circles, at least, CERN is just another "good intention" of which the road to hell is paved.
