I love Kate Mulgrew she reminds me of Katherine Hepburn so much, the way she looks the way she talks. Both tough gals. Even my mom thought she was Hepburnish. My gal friends like Janeway cause she is perfect mix of feminine masculine. We all loved that episode when the microscopic virus became huge. That scene where she put on that equipment! GASP! She is soooo cool! I want that as an action figure!! When Janeway wore that white pant suit... one of my roommates says she reminds her of her mom. Cougar Mommy Janeway! I LOVE CAPTAIN JANEWAY!!!

she did have problems with flowing the rules but for Christ sake she was stranded in the delta quadrant. look at Ransom and how quick he went south.(yes i know he have as many resources as Janeway). all in all she was a great captain.

I think that Janeway was put in a very bad situation, (getting stuck in the Delta quadrent cant be easy) and turned things very well. At first I thought that she was a letter too hard noses. As the show went on, she became a mother to everything on that ship. I personaly think that only Janeway could have pulled that off.

Great Captain - Great Role Model
and A WOMAN for Kirk's sake, how can she not be notable for being a female captain and lead in a sci-fi series?

It was a Bold decision (don't pardon the pun)and it worked. She only improved with time.

I thought she was a good captain...

Though I never liked the fact that whenever her crewmembers suggested something which would break the rules she would go 'oh no, they are teh sacred text' but then an episode later she would be 'rules schmules'.
