Default Returning production team?

Since people have no doubt exhausted the "Is this TOS actor going to be in the new film" debate, I was wondering about film crew.

Anyone know anything about the production team on this project and whether they have had experience with the Trek universe? Or is Abrams going with a fresh team? I didn't see Harve Bennett's name on this. Or Herman Zimmerman whose been doing the sets for Star Trek since "Final Frontier".

It's not a big deal really. It'd be nice to see familiar faces involved behind the scenes. Even so, going with a fresh team is not bad either.

Nice paradox!

I agree that there would be a certain comfort level knowing that the people involved were not new to Trek and could cary over some of their TLC to the new film to give it some bit of continuity.

All reports so far have indicated all-new production people selected for this movie. No one who worked behind the scenes on previous Trek shows or films appear to be involved, at least no one from a creative aspect...

We'll see if that was a good choice!

Oh yeah, I guess they had a hard time getting the Excelsior out of the barn in that one. But at this point I still believe a completely new production team is best for the Trek franchise. I have high hopes that the new vision will blow our minds with a fresh new look/feel that is grand in scale while also being inspirational, thought-provoking, and fun.

I am trying to keep an open mind until I actually see the film.

Eaves, as well as Geoffrey Mandel, etc., worked as members of large art departments under the direction of Rick Berman and longtime Trek production designer Herman Zimmerman, who both really had the final say in his designs. That won't be the case with Star Trek XI (J.J. Abrams and Scott Chamberliss).
