Great point to include Reg, the brilliant misfit and a junior officer. It's not always the big ones who are the greatest.

Brocolli? That's actually a good choice. I'd go with Scotty though...he's all about the job. Think about Gallileo Seven...he's the only one that doesn't jump on Spock (okay....a thousand fan fics explode in my mind) ...eh, he's the only one that doesn't balk at Spock as commanding officer. He's the only one who recognizes the job that needs to be done and that Spock is the commander who's job it is to do it. Consistently, Scotty is the man.
