Default Who is the greatest Starfleet officer of all time?

Oh many will say Kirk, Spock, Picard maybe Riker, Worf, Sisko or Data but all these choices pale in comparisson to the GREATEST of all time. Ladies and Gentlemen

LT. Leslie http://www.memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Leslie

What a utility player.

Who do you like the best?

Yeah not bad, when you look at how multi skilled he was, but even though he was a main character I still think Miles O'Brien!

Hard to judge. I'd go for Scotty, Trip or Geordi, but probably only because O'Brien and B'Elanna weren't portrayed as "miracle workers" as frequently as the other ones.
Then again it could be the poor crewman scrubbing plasma inductors on E deck or the warp matrix specialist from Commander Jeffries' team

ARCHER: On a personal note, I'll also be saying goodbye to one hell of a chief engineer.

I'm a big fan of Reg Barclay who's brilliant and yet had to overcome more than most to become a hero.

And I fairly often think of the Bajoran Starfleet officer in the TNG ep 'Lower Decks' who volunteered to go alone on a extremely dangerous mission and gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Scotty - given he had to do Kirk's job commanding the ship (and did it extremely well) almost as often as his own job!
