I guess they could also use a conventional H-bomb, but the nice thing about antimatter is that you don't have to create the massive heat and pressure you need for nuclear fusion. Just deactivate magnetic containment and ... CABOOM

I'm of the opinion that it'd be more fun to see how much it would cost to build a full sized, liveable mockup of 1701. Just the structures, conventional materials, no Wonderflonium. Going by what we saw in TOS, we're not talking Hilton accomodations, but I couldn't begin to guess at the materials (obviously a lot of concrete (floors) and plastic (chairs, tables and such) but a certain amount of vinyl and other miscellanea as well. Then there's lighting, air conditioning, and so on. So how much would a building the size and shape of the 1701 cost, ya think? Or one the size of the DS9 Defiant?
