Uhura and Kirk
It's been some time since I've watched Star Trek, but I can't wait for the movie. My question for longtime fans....did Uhura and Kirk have some type of romantic relationship during the original series and do you think there will be one in the movie?

There is an episode where Kirk and Uhura kiss. I never saw the episode yet. I just remember it on the special video I got. It was apparently one of the most controversial tv moments at the time (black girl kissing a white guy... ooooooh!)

There was never any romantic connection between Kirk and Uhura in the original series. There was, however, an incident where they were forced to kiss by aliens with telekinetic powers - but nothing else. If the relationship between these characters is the same in the new film as in the original series, then there would be nothing romantic between them.

I'm sure they'll tie in some kind of Uhura love interest, though. Zoe Saldana is too damn hot for them not to.

As everyone has pointed out, there was no relationship there. It was Rand, not Uhura who got almost raped by "bad personality Kirk". Uhura tended to flirt with Spock when she flirted (see Charlie X and The Man Trap for obvious flirtation, I can name moments in other episodes that hint at something more between them), so there's some potential there to fulfill little trekfangirl's dreams.....
