Question Guinen

I wonder who designed her cloths for this show.? I always wonder why
she wore those gigantic hats that took up the whole screen..
any thoughts?

The wide hats helped hide the really long dreadlocks that Whoopi Goldberg used to have, IMO.

Then again, wide-brimmed hats may be considered quite fashionable among El-Aurian women over a few centuries old...

It was a way to look fashionable while showing she was an "alien"

yeah...I thought it was just to be different. I doubt they did much to hide the locks because, really anything would have done that.

Next Gen liked to give the "different" characters very distinct looks...think Data's skin, Geordi's visor, Troi's hair/dress/cleavage (depending on the season..by the end, she got to be "normal"). Note that none of the "normal human" characters were burdened with a huge visual clue that screamed "I am different"....Guinan was different, so she had to have a big visual clue in case it turned out we were all idiots.
