Atari, Cryptic Studio's parent company, noted in its annual earnings report an expected release date of the game by March 31, 2010, the end of Atari's current fiscal year.

Actually for the PC game of Star Trek Online there is, I should know I pre-ordered it at Game Stop. The relase date is Febuary 2nd,if Im' not mistaken. But its comming out in Febuary for sure.

It's just a typical MMO with Star Trek licensing IMO. It will be better 6 months to a year from now, but it's not worth picking up in it's current state.

I thought about getting it, but then I discovered that it costs $50 for the software and then $15 a month after that.

I wonder how many people STO will lose after the free first thirty days? In this economy, paying for a sub-standard MMO can't be a high priority. As I understand it, it had the biggest launch for an MMO ever (can't be certain if that is just hype or legit). Nevertheless, they'll lose a bunch of 'em.
