H2O would be dangerous for a life form that used ammonia as a biological energy tranfer mechanism.

Larry Niven envisioned a life form in his Known Space series that exploded and burned on contact with water.

Water based oxygen breathers may not be the only life forms in the universe, in fact given the size of the Milky Way Galaxy alone, we just may be one of several types of biological entities.

DiHydrogen Oxide was VERY harmful to the aliens in Signs. Dang if running the sprinklers saves a life, we should all ALWAYS run our sprinklers.

right! I really liked that film! I actually felt chilled when the aliens were attempting "night of the living dead style" to break into the house.

I just loved that movie. Deep emotions, family drama, and aliens. What could be better?

I was screaming in the theater, and still can't watch it when I'm alone because it freaks me out.
