Holy fracking crap! Here young aspiring screenwriters like myself are stugling to get their fresh ideas out to movie producers...independent filmmakers with trully original concepts and visions are getting squelched...and hollywood is becoming a rehash machine. Holy crap....make it stop.

That's an interesting list. I'm curious to see what the remakes look like.
I'd like to see an live action remake of the anime series Starblazers. As a kid, I was late for school many days watching this series. I have the first 2 stories on DVD. Waiting for the 3rd story to come down in price a bit. And I watch an episode now and then. Would be interesting to see. (Is it wrong to want to see a live action version of Sailor Moon? Maybe I need to check the adult section of my local video store. )Last edited by USS_Essex : 08-05-2008 at 08:58 PM. |

I'm taking back my strong support for the writers during the strike... since they are not coming up with ANYTHING new.
Yes, I have one of those T shirts.

But isn't it amamzing how many remakes there are, including films that should be left alone.

It seems a little counterproductive to withdraw support of writers in the hopes of urging production of more original scripts. Just a thought. ![]()

Does Pirahna and Escape From New York REALLY need to be remade?

I've seen the original Pirahna many years ago, it's not bad but it's no better or worse than many others that have been remade. Escape from New York I would agree with though - Carpenter may have lost it but that late 70s early 80s period have all been remade badly so far.
