Not to be too harsh, but it really staggers me that people are surprised about remakes. Hollywood has been remaking itself since it began. There have been countless remakes over time - some are good, some are adequate, some are awful, but Hollywood is in the business of making money and if there's a dime of profit to be reached then they will go ahead with it. Now some on the list I don't want to see myself (The Birds, Escape from New York, TRON and others, some I actually do want to see - Westworld, Logan's Run, and if The Thing is being worked on by Moore I will give it the benefit of the doubt, some I don't care either way) but I have a love for The Last Starfighter, so if a dire remake gets the original finally released on Region 2 to cash in, then bring it on!!

It wouldn't be so bad if most of the remakes didn't suck!
