that was funny

I have two:

My mom kept the dog's food in a big bottom drawer in the kitchen and one day she caught me, red-handed, sitting in the drawer gobbling down dog chow. Dad even took a picture to preserve the moment for posterity.

My first sentence was inspired by my parents throwing an empty milk carton into the fireplace. The carton was closed, so the little bit of milk still inside boiled and created enough steam to make it explode. "Fire fart!" is still shouted to this day anytime a log on the fire pops.

When my younger brother turned 1 yr old (I was 4 1/2) I took a pair of scissors and cut what little hair he had because I "wanted the baby to look good for his birthday," as I later admitted to my mother. I had hidden the lock of hair behind a couch but my mother found it while she was cleaning. My mother kept in an envelope marked 'Craig's hair at 1 yr old (Bradley cut it)' and it still exists to this day in a drawer in my parents house. This event has been brought up countless times over the past 36 years.

During the 70's "Hot Wheels" was a big deal. Every kit came with an iron-on transfer for your t-shirt. One fateful day while spending a summer vacation with my grandparents I ironed on my latest transfer to a t-shirt. I used the carpet and I didn't bother with an ironing board. I'd seen mom and my sister quickly pressing an article of clothing on the carpeting from time to time.

But, we had wool carpeting at home. My grandparents had "indoor/outdoor" synthetic carpeting. Guess what happened.

It's the topic that just can't die. And at every family reunion there it is again.

I was dull to the point of having no pictures or stories of my childhood (other than when I was a baby and my mother thought she could leave me in a room full of sharp objects and I would be safe because I wasn't interested in moving around) however, my sister once stood on top of the swingset and peed into the wind.....My dad reminded her of that on her 50th birthday.....

When I was a teen I went on date with an older woman ( she wasn't more than 6-7 years older at the time, and I looked older than I was)about a wekk later she was a substitute teacher in one of my classes. Bit of a shake up there...lol.
