You know, capitalization loses its meaning when you use it on every word. In any case, I have played SFA and it has some RPG elements, such as a peudo-experience system and upgrades for your ship, but overall it's much more of a sim-fighter style game. No matter how you classify it, SFA remains an enjoyable game.

It was ok. Never finished, just lost interest. I found Bridge Commader soon after I played SFA, and just went playing BC and downloading mods from BCfiles.

I played SFA on the Super Nintendo first, and loved it. A friend and I would have lots of matches on the game. (It also was the only other video game I'm aware of that actually got the sound of the photon torpedoes RIGHT...the other game being the Star Trek arcade game from years before.)

I finally (a couple years ago) managed to find a copy of SFA for the PC. It's pretty cool. They definitely could've done a better job with the phasers and torpedoes.

I wanted to find Klingon Academy, but alas, no luck.

I agree that Bridge Commander is a far superior game....and I also enjoy Star Trek Legacy (although it has a very unfinished feel to it.)

Yeah, I play BC, but it's notorious for crashing.

Klingon Academy (as I understand it) had a much larger selection of ships to choose from than SFA.

Plus, it had Colonel (then) Chang, and Chancellor Gorkon. (Both roles reprised by Christopher Plummer and David Warner).

I think Legacy has been their best ship based game, mix of Armada and BC.
