I think it's great that folks have other boards [psst -- a forum is a section of board; like "Off-topic Discussions" is a forum on the Star Trek Movie board]. You can meet new people there who might participate there but not here, and sometimes be able to discuss things on one board which another board does not permit. Or sometimes one board will simply have a different atmosphere than another, which results in certain types of discussions occurring on one board, but not the other.

I, too, am building a new sci-fi board at Yuku.com which will be open in about two weeks or so, and if Red Shirt says it's okay, I'd like to post a link here to it. Hopefully, you'll all stop by.

Participating on different boards can be fun.

The word "mandatory" scares people. Nobody likes to be told they MUST subscribe to a newsletter. How about optional newsletter?
