Sure, I'll bite.

Accept/Reject isn't an applicable phrasing with me.
I thought the series had some promise.

I recognized it for what it was intended to be originally, a rebooting of Star Trek concepts and ideas and something of an attempted return to roots. Some may argue this point, but IMO they would be dismissing pertinent clues and facts. No "Star Trek" in title, completely different style opening with a *gasp* vocalized song (whatever you may think of that) are just some of the many clues.

I witnessed the fan outcry (I'll be diplomatic with that description).
That was probably the catalyst for my epiphany on Trek Fandumb and utter contempt for it, whereas before I was simply dismissive of it like you would be with a tourettes syndrome afflicted acquaintance.

From there the series got lost in trying to please those who could never be pleased instead of holding true to itself and its goals; even from the beginning it was slightly wishy-washy and it showed through. It tried to incorporate so many elements to please the above mentioned that should have never been introduced; including the dreaded technobabble crutch Fandumb creams it's jeans over. After watching it flounder around like a fish out of water I gave up hope entirely when the title "Star Trek" appeared. The last couple of seasons was a fan reach-around that was embarrassing and exceptionally disturbing to witness. I was glad to see the show finally take the swan dive and actually laughed at the final episode which was indeed a two-fisted one-fingered salute to fandumb.

Yeah, I was happy to accept it from the beginning, even if season 1 was patchy and season 2 was pretty ropey. Seasons 3 and 4, however, were both fabulous and totally restored my faith in the show.
