Default USS Kelvin *probably spoiler heavy!*

I'm trying to build the U.S.S. Kelvin from what I know of it and can extrapolate...

First, the AICN article with Harry Knowles is real, right? Or has it been debunked? Because I can assume from that that the design is similar to the 'Akula-class' TOS design. He also says that the interior is "very shadowy and very much like that of an old diesel submarine", which leads me to believe the 'secret corridor' on NCC-1701.com is a corridor in the U.S.S. Kelvin.

Faran Tahir also describes his ship as having "muscle" and being a "capable thing". Knowles desribes it as being "aggressive" and "badass". And in a rumor I read somewhere, Spock was to visit an alternate reality through the Guardian of Forever and that there was an alternate version of the Enterprise that was a warship. However, I think the rumor was semi-true but that they mistook the Kelvin for a warship Enterprise. So, from all that I assume the Kelvin is well armed and looks dangerous and is probably a battleship of sorts.

Most sources also say it's smaller than the Enterprise and is 'busier'. Now, the corridor (should it be from the Kelvin) has some exposed pipes and a lot of angular support beams. And the leaked spy shots I saw in a nearby thread showed a shuttle. From what I can tell, the shuttle is from the same time period as the Kelvin, and therefore the controls shown inside are probably the same or similar as they would be in the Kelvin. Same with the signage and some of the design elements. So what I'm getting from that is a worn, stripped-down look with lots of physical controls and a modern military feel with some near-futuristic touches here and there. Essentially, like the new Battlestar Galactica but replacing the Colonial design elements with our own.

I can infer quite a lot from all this and from extrapolating from design influences, etc. But it might not be enough. So does anyone else have any more info or ideas on what the Kelvin looks like, or might look like? Any informed extrapolation of your own? I'm hoping my version comes out pretty close to the movie version when it's FINALLY revealed...a million years later :P ........

That was OGAM, I think.

haha, okay well...that takes care of that anyway... ...I'm still wondering what the descriptions of 'aggressive' and 'muscular' might imply though... maybe heavy armor? large turrets? or just the design perhaps? :/

Whatever you can infer from these adjectives transcends Vulcan logic.
But seriously, the Kelvin might be a smaller and more compact ship than the big E, perhaps something entirely different to standarf UFP ship design, like the Defiant.

You've done an excellent job of extrapolating what the new ship will be like, and I believe this will be the basis for the next series.

As predicted would happen in that thread, those unauthorized photos are not legal to publish online and have been removed (along with the thread about them) per Paramount's board rules.
