What did you think?
It was good. We got the on screen seen we wanted and we got to see them in action again, but it did feel like an episode on Tv not so much a movie. They never wraped up what happen to Agent Reyes and Doget . They also did not explain where they had been. I did like that they showed Scully's Religious side more clearly and even if Mulder is diffrent then she is, they complete each other in the end

It didn't suck if you're a fan of the series more importantly the characters Mulder and Scully. I don't think you can compare the 98 movie with this one because they are so different. So much has happened to these two characters between then and now that it changes a lot of things. This movie does feel more like an extend episode then a film but I didn't feel that was a bad thing I actually liked the change of pace from all the action packed/CGI movies we get force feed these days.

Is it a stand alone story?

Does he find his sister. A complete waste of time if not.

Well I don't want to ruin anything but that story was conclusively ended in a Season 7 episode.

The episode is called "Closure" if you want to watch it.

I gave up on the series. I figured that it never really led anywhere. Lots of questions was not often balanced with any real payoff.
I just heard scully mention his sister on a trailer so thought this must have been about that.
What did happen with his sister?

I think that Scully is meaning that when any case invloves a missing woman or women (as the film does) it brings back memories of his sister and how he failed to find her. I have the episodes on dvd but not had time to watch the two-parter that dealt with it so perhaps Enterprise Captain can fill in the blanks, but from what I remember through encountering the case of another multiple child killer, pursuing the memories of his sister it sparks, Mulder is able to realise and finally accept that his sister is in fact dead, and that she was kidnapped and murdered by an ordinary man - her disappearance itself had nothing to do with the conspiracy at all.
