Best case scenario: pollution will be under control, we'll have more of a sense of being a global community, genetically modified crops will have eradicated hunger, and rampant disease will be gone. We'll have a colony on the moon and maybe even one on Mars.

Worst case scenario: the air is dirty and we've allowed ourselves to be comsumed by our electronic toys, turning into little borgs.

If all goes well (at least all the ills of our own doing which we decide to rise above), then I think the 22nd might well be THE era in which humanity spreads into space as a species.

I think such outward-thinking will have tremendous positive impacts for terrestrial life, expanding frontiers, expanding mindsets, etc.

Unfortunately "Joanie Loves Chachi" and "The Love Boat" will be our broadcast ambassadors reaching other stars at the same time, which isn't so great a calling card for our species. Oh well, the good and the bad!

What I hope is a world like Star Trek...

What I think will happen is this...
