A sad time indeed for his friends and family. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

With all the recent losses in the Trek family recently, as well as with the losses of Doohan and Kelley, and even Gene, it goes to show that we fans need to go out and give our support and encouragement for this new movie. Instead of worrying about "canon" and things like that, let's celebrate the fact we are getting a new story about Kirk, Spock, McCoy and company. Don't take this to sound insensetive, but this puts into perspective not only the importance of life, but also just how necessary it is to have new blood in Star Trek.

You will be sorely missed Justman, but your work and legacy is immortalized.

Well said OCT,

Mr. Justman was indeed one of greats behind Star Trek. He'll always be remembered along with Gene R and Gene Coon who died in the 70's. Justman and Herbert Solow wrote "Inside Star Trek: The Real Story." I would invite all to read to remember how all it all began.

But, OCT is right. We need new minds and creativity to keep Star Trek alive. This new movie could be the start of a new generation of fans who will carry the torch into the future.

Thanks for showing us the way Mr. Justman. Warp Speed.

Justman's son was quoted as saying something along the lines of "It's like there's a big Star Trek convention and everyone is being beamed up."

That's a good way to look at it... slowly reuniting the crew for the next adventure.

Well, that's a... metaphysical way of looking at it, I suppose...

A whole bunch of (Eastern) unsupported, but (Western) expected assumptions, then, we can expect the next TRUE 'incarnation' of trek to be, quite literally, on a 'whole new level'...

I'd hate to even specualte about something like that.

I read Mr. Justman's book when it first came out. It had some really interesting bits that really made me understand how much the earlier "Making of Trek" was really a bit of studio propaganda. As I understand it, he was one of the guys key to saving so many of the bloopers and was an instigator of many of the legendary practical jokes on the set.
Above all, he was devoted to turning out quality work. Both with Trek, and with Mission Impossible (also a Desilu production originally)

Thanks for everyting, Mr. Justman. You did a wonderful job!
