Default something precious I thought I'd share

Olivia was just crying in bed just now. Probably waking up in the dark brought on some anxiety or something.

I went in, picked her up and she put her head on my shoulder and said dada.

That's why I don't want her to grow up.

awww....that is precious.

You do want her to grow up. Trust me....and, there will be times you wonder why you were ever happy she learned to talk or walk....but it's all wonderful in different ways.

But there's so much stuff to look forward to. Every year she lives she'll present different problems and delights to you. Every stage she goes through will be a unique and different parental experience for you. There will be hard and difficult moments it's true. But the good times and the pleasant experiences of parenthood will make it all worth the effort. And no matter how old she gets, and whether she grows up, gets married, moves out or whatever she does. You'll always be her daddy, and she'll always be your little girl. Isn't that just special?

My baby is 2, and I can very much understand the feelings. She is the light of my life.

''You spend the first few years of their life teaching them to walk and talk, and you spend the rest of your life telling them to sit down and shut up.''

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Enjoy every precious moment. The number of "firsts" you share with your child drops at an exponential rate.

I'm gonna miss the little bouquets of wilted dandelions and violets.
