I think if it were a good action movie but not a good trek film most fans would still appreciate it at that level.
Where as i think All good things was a great wrap to the series i am not convinced that the next gen crew needed a send off like the original crew did in Undiscovered country.
I may be wrong but i don't see legions of fans begging for Data to be ressurected, even though bringing him back would be very plausable. Nor do i see a lot of interest in bringing Picard back to the big screen.
Not that i think Shatner needs to be in the new film but the desire for original characters and the actors who played them to return has not translated to any of the other crews at the same level if at all.

Too many mistakes:
Deck 29 on a ship with 24 decks.
Shield diagram with an early design sketch that was never used.
VIOLATION OF PRIME DIRECTIVE on Kolarus III
...need I say more?

Well I find Nemisis overall was an excellent film in premise. It was directing and editing that messed it up. Never the less I find this to be my number 2 TREK film.

It's a perfectly serviceable film on TV. But as a cinematic experience, it's a letdown. I never felt TNG was suited to the big screen: rather than a star-based (pun not intended) show, it was an ensemble show with a lot of different characters and built on nuance and how those characters developed week-in, week-out.

Taking that element away from the stories meant that TNG films would always ring hollow.

The TNG movies, including ST:FC, always seemed little more than more flashily-lit TV episodes: great to watch at home, but not something your average punter would want to spend £10 on at the cinema!!!

seriously guys, that movie was god-awful. It was self-parody. It was comically bad. It was the physical embodiment of everything that was ever once wrong with star trek ever. I'm choking on my own rage here!

Seriously, it did do one good thing that should have been done with Gernerations- it got B&B's asses fired

No kidding! And where the hell did the Reman Viceroy fall to during his fight with Riker if they were on Deck 29?? He fell into what seemed like a bottomless pit---on the bottom deck of the ship! That totally annoyed me.

It amazes me that people trash this movie. It's my second favorite of the TNG films and was EXCELLENT imo. Shinzon was a very good villian and although I hated that Data died, ending it with B4 made me feel a little better.

I totally agree! It was definetly nice to see our old friends once more on the big screen, along with the Enterprise-E. I remember the audience clapping and cheering when that first shot of the Enterprise flowing through space again. It made me think what new adventure would the Enterprise experience this time? Especially after the big gap between this film and Insurrection. After seeing the film with my dad and friend, he felt that Data and B4 were the same, and that it wouldn't matter. Well, in fact they weren't the same, and it did matter. I feel that even now, B4 isn't the same as Data, and will never be. After all, he was just bate in order for Shinzon to gain access to Starfleet protocal.

Nemesis has the edge over both Generations and Insurrection for me. I could have wished for better TNG movies really... even First Contact is lacking some of the magic from their best episodes. The humour frequently falls flat, especially the Data related sub plots.

The ideal TNG movie material was to adapt "Yesterday's Enterprise" for the big screen. It's great to hear the writers of Star Trek 2008 cite this as one of their favs too. Bodes well.

I hated "Yesterday's Enterprise." I think it's the most overrated episode in all of Trekdom.

Yes, I am a Trek Blasphemer. I know this.
