I've great ideas...and I've attempted to write before but I lack structure.
I'd love to collaborate but find people truely intrested in finishin a task is SO difficult.

I can't write worth a darn. It's easy to read a story or watch a movie, then say "I would have done 'this' or 'that' different". But when it comes to creating an entirely new idea... I move at a snails pace!! I've always thought of myself as someone that could advise a writer after reading an early draft, but NOT a writer.

On the contrary that is infact part of my job description as a drafter.
You mistake reluctance or lack of intrest for incapacity. When time is of the essense I do not bother with specifics in an informal enviroment but such is the flaw in many of your erstwhile assumptions.

It make me appreciate Gene Roddenberry, George Lucas and Eugene Roddenberry for what they've accomplished and how they manage to find so many people ...proffesionals that want to accomplish great things and not just start great things.

Saquists' ideas sound more like novel (or possibly novella) material than short story.

I wonder if trek should try an animated series again, something on the scale of Avatar with a purpose not just episodic repeat of DS9
