Default Defiant - Sign of the times

The Defiant class starship is a sign of changing times. With the Borg as an ever present threat and the Dominion rearing its ugly head, how could Starfleet not create something as unique as the Defiant. The design did surprise me, but not shockingly so. LOL, it has 3 sections, engines, weapons and a bridge.
