Default Do you do "science" for a living?

Just wondering, how many of us are in or are planning to be in science-related professions? The majority of my other sci-fi loving friends (and I consider you all here to be my firends as well) are heavily into science/technology-related fields. This week I gave a "career day" talk at a local middle-school specifically for gifted science-oriented students and the vast majority of those 6th-8th graders were heavily into sci-fi. Coincidence?

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of us here are also into literature/journalism-related fields. Just a guess.

I work with science/engineering people... I am 3D modeling components of this device the guys are prototyping for this R&D/IT company... making the technical drawings and an animation for presentation. This company happens to also build websites(my job too). I'm the company's general artist right now. Graduated last May... have worked in film/tv and continuing to on the side. Hope to move into film/tv/gaming full time.

My dad is/was an electrical engineer for Hughes Aerospace back in the day. My older sister is working on her PhD. in Aerospace in the area of Propulsion at Purdue(Where Neil Armstrong went). One of my cousin is a computer scientist...

In my family my generation... we are all ST fans.

Degree in oceanography. My undergraduate thesis focused primarily on the geologic aspect and involved analysis of several types of acoustic data as well as radiometric dating and sediment grain size composition analysis.
