Thanks for the link! After seeing this I am hopeful that the new movie will make some sort of reference to the reunification of Vulcan and Romulus. I was thinking that would be the best way to include (old)Spock in a new movie. This Nero character is probably a Romulan.

Just because the story starts after Nemesis, it doesn't necessarily follow that the TNG cast will be in it. Spock was on Romulus previously. I'd think he probably starts from there and goes back.

Actually, it would make a good over-all storyline - some Romulan 'agitator' shouting at Ambassador Spock that there can be no unification because the Vulcans will not 'think' like Romulans; the Romulans refuse to 'surrender' emotions as had the Vulcans - their races/viewpoints have diverged too far... Spock, stoically, listens to said 'attack', then says something along the lines of: "I too, once would have made the same argument regarding the diversity of thought; and I too, would have been as wrong as you are now..."

Cue flashback to Spock's early days as 'outsider' in Starfleet...
