It's a possibility, given proper promotion. They're going to have to work hard to overcome the Trekkie stigma.

I feel more confident about this movie since The Voyage Home. Most of the Next Gen movies had a hard time breaking away from a television mentality. This movie is already already being touted as "epic". I have a very good feeling about it.

Default Nemesis

I've said it before, I'll say it many more times to come: Abrams, Orci, and whatever other in-crowd people to whom they've granted permission to make this movie need to watch Nemesis again and basically do exactly the polar opposite.

Seriously, that movie is the bane of my existence right now...

I think the TNG movies didn't account for another movie being made, in result, changing the mentality of the scene. But there is one thing on my mind about the TNG movie Nemesis: what happened to Data's "brother" Lore? I just wish they made another movie about that.

Lore was disassembled and presumably taken away for study by the guys in labcoats. http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Lore

It's supposed to have a 150M dollar budget.

Just how big a "blockbuster" would it need to be to cover that?

I really hope so. I think with the popularity of the teams previous works is a real plus, and as stated before, the movie seems a lot more "epic" than the other Treks
