My thoughts went in the same direction as Elizadolots - what better way to marginalize the pesky Russkies than having their avatar be a teenaged Monkey-haired whipping boy with a silly accent?

Still, I thought he and Sulu were cute, but I was part of that coveted 6 - 12 year old female market share.

But Chekov (in the 1960's) was meant to be more of a Davy Jones of the Monkees type to attract more younger vewiers.
