Default COMPLETELY off-topic...

Was doing some 'second-unit' CGI work, came across the meshes/textures used in the open-source sim 'Orbiter'... this is the (whimsical) result.

'Watch in High Quality' for best effect - *grin*

That intro was the best part of the 70-80's Buck Rodgers!

I had forgotten about the "sexy" intro. Wasn't that made for when the Pilot ran as a theatrical film in Europe?

Oh yeah! "Suspension" Possibly the single worst science fiction theme song in history... (and we all thought "Faith of the Heart" from Enterprise was the bottom of the barrel.)

Still, the "sexy opening" from the feature has a certain "kitch" value. Buck meets James Bond, meets 1980's Penthouse pictoral, meets ironic cheesefest! I don't care what stripe of nerd you are... but the bump and grind with the the silver lame and the glasses should pump up the volume on any fanboy... (or girl if she is "family")

Well, wait. I take that back. The theme song from "The Green Slime" is still the absolute worst in my book.

Oh, and OP... nice work on the animations. I love the camera/object motion on the shuttle in flight.

Man what a description!!! LOL!!

Do you know if the "sexy intro" was made for the pilot's European theatrical release?

Thanks. I'm not exacltly sure where the "S.I." showed up. I never bothered seeing BR in the movie theatres... nor BSG when they released it in "Sensurround." Generally, I consider Glen A Larson to be one of the worst, lowest common denominator producers that ever worked in TV/movies. Does anyone know if it's available on the DVD of the theatrical cut? I know it's not on the VHS release... (amazing how many tapes you can pick up for a couple of bucks at the flea market these days!)

THE BSG Pilot on DVD is the 2 hour one, not the 3 hour one.
