#1 - ANYTHING brewed under the German Purity laws. Strenghts, colors, brews or tones to choice, but few other beers can match those made of just various amounts of water, barley and hops.

#2 - Steamwhistle Premium Pilsner. If not for the Pilsner need for yeast, this would meet the GPL - and for those who like pilsners or pale ales, this is the one for you. Trust me.

#3 - Rickard's Red/Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale. RR Used to have this spot, hand's down, before Molson bought out the original brewery - now it has to share with the previous '4rd place' holder, as they are about equal.

Honorable Mention - Bumped up due to the Rickard's Red Debacle: Guinness.
Great 'beer', Guinness Irish Stout is just that - STOUT. I admire the ingenuity that went into the can design, and it's a good approximation; but unless you have a source of on-the-tap Guinness, it'll have to continue at #4. If you DO have Draught Guinness, then pick-your-tie for #1; you'll need SOMETHING else to occasionally 'clear the palate'; otherwise, you'll quickly stop enjoying the Guinness. (I blame/credit Guinness with the origin of 'beer nuts' - they do a great job of cleansing the palate, too.)

Pilsner Urquell was good until they stopped using the wooden casks to make it. Stupid EU.

They have it in liquor stores in Tenn, so maybe a good chance it's in Kentucky too. If you find it check it out, good stuff!
