Oh dear. To recap as briefly as possible:

TREK canon remains quite unclear and open to interpretation whether the Enterprise was: a) built on Earth; or b) built in part on Earth but assembled in Space. The discussion (argument) on this point has never ended.

What you see in the trailer is mostly metaphoric and not to be taken literally.

The co-writer Bob Orci says cryptically that there's nothing in the teaser which rules out the Enterprise being built in-part on Earth and assembled in orbit.

The footage in the teaser was created specifically for the teaser and may not appear in the final film at all.

Lastly, expect this thread to get merged or such by an admin, as the topic has been discussed at length elsewhere.

How much concrete did they use in building the Enterprise?

I always thought it was understood that the Eneterprise was built in Earth orbit, San Fransico Ship yards

I was just excited to see Scotty and hear Leonard Nimoy.

I fail to comprehend your indignation, sir. I have simply made the logical deduction that you are a liar. (Spock)

Some compents could have been built on the ground, all would be assembled in space/orbit.

Personally, I think it entirely possible- and proper- that the Ent was in fact built on Earth.

Either the ship in its entirety is lifted with the help of structural "tugboats" into orbit, or dis-assembeled and re-assembeled in orbit.

But I have no doubt in my mind that it was built in the San Francisco Naval Yards in California, planetside.

Default Area 51

I seem to recall reading somewhere that in this movie, the Enterprise was built in Area 51. Has anyone else heard this?
