Question Transwarp Drive

Why would the Federation call it a failure? I mean, before knowing about what Scotty did to it, that's understandable, but after the Federation found out it was was Scott who took out the components to it, why wouldn't they attempt to test it again? I mean, it wasn't a failure. Scott just prevented it from working.

To be honest, there is no way of knowing wither it was a failure or not, because it never was given the chance to be used after Excelsior persued Enterprise. If I were Commander Starfleet, I would recommend another try of the Transwarp Drive, and this time make sure no one sabotaged it.

maybe it was a failure despite what scotty did to the drive. Or maybe the so-called transwarp technology was adapted for other starships and just called warp drive from then on. Makes sense to take less energy to say warp than transwarp. If that's true, it would explain why vessels in the 24th century seem to go faster than what they used to in the 23rd century. Continually recalibrating the warp scale.

Well, one thing is for sure, we will never know...

Well, tranwarp worked by generating an infinite improbability feild around the ship, thus making it pass through every conceivable point in every conceivable universe at the same time. The ship then selects it re-entry point.... but I understand there were side effects...

I don't want to know what the side effects were, lol. Maybe ship leap, rather than jet lag. lol

Yeah, everyone came out looking like Richard Nixon.
(Surely, you must be joking?)

I guess that the Excelsior project transwarp drive is the same as the one using the modified cochrane unit. Remember there was a change from OCU to MCU.
