The only time I actually saw the directory, was when tourists or visters to the station stopped by and pointed to the destination they were looking for.

If you notice on the top right, you will even notice "Infirmiry - Dr. Julian Bashir".

You love going back and looking for hidden stuff don't you.

Well, I guess my point was, that there are several things in the directory that were actually acurate to the show. Usually, every single one is something that has to do with the production or inside-joke. The dedication plaques on the starships all contain the names of the producers of the show. Directories on D and E, along with other Federation craft have the inside jokes. However, this has inside jokes, as well as acurate information according to the show. Bashir's, Quark's, Garak's.

Promenade directory

The Promenade featured a free-standing directory that listed the shops and offices located there. The directory was written in six languages: English, Vulcan, Klingon, Ferengi, Bajoran and Cardassian.
The directory appeared on the Promenade beginning with Season 2. The DS9 art department incorporated numerous jokes and references in the directory's listings, including "Jupiter Mining Corporation" and "Diva Droid" (both references to Red Dwarf, being the company that operated the ship Red Dwarf and the company that built the service droid Kryten respectively), "Milliways" (The Restaurant at the End of the Universe from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), "Spacely Sprockets" (The Jetsons), "Del Floria's Tailor Shop" (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.), and "Chez Zimmerman" (a reference to Herman Zimmerman, the show's production designer and the man responsible for much of the look of the Promenade set). The following version of the directory is reproduced from the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion: I guess they never updated it after season 2. The schoolroom is still listed on the board.
